Quasity's Own - "Hello World!"

We’re proud to relaunch the Quasity Blog along with some of our earlier content. Over the last years we have been really proud and humbled to realise how much both Performance Management and Human Resource Management practitioners have transitioned towards the Pareto way of thinking. While not everyone agrees completely with our approach, this gives us both the opportunity to be unique, to slowly improve our own ideas and conversely to convince many more already leaning towards better performance measures to spend more time understanding our approach and our research.

Often there is more than one way to solve a problem. There are different ways to understand or analyse a situation. Just being able to visualise or slice the data into meaningful categories starts to add more value.

On the other hand, there are a number of different fields in which the approaches we find interesting can be used to view the world around us. So we have posts regarding Sport, University and Research Rankings, Ratings of Software Companies and Rankings of Key-Industry Suppliers coming up over the next months.

Just to recapture some of the basics:

Metaphysically:

Quality is a vector

Quantity is a scalar

Quasity = Quantity × Quality is a vector

Exergy = Quality ∙ Quasity is a scalar dot product

It really is pretty amazing how some of these fundamental laws make sense in so many fields, like we have similarities with physical laws while computing Inertia, the Center of Gravity or using Voltage, Resistance and Current to calculate the Energy or further on to Work and Power.
